BROWNLEE, John Stewart - 1940-2012 - On July 6, 2012 at the age of 71, John Stewart Brownlee, Professor Emeritus, Department of History, University of Toronto. Born in Sudbury, Ontario. Educated at Creighton Mine Public School, Sudbury Mining and Technical School (now part of Sudbury Secondary School) and the University of Toronto. Survived by his brother Alan of Sudbury; two children, Jill of Toronto and Dean of Sudbury; and five grandchildren. No funeral or memorial service. Burial at Waters Cemetery, Walden, on July 9, 2012.
