(1940-2023)

In loving memory of Rita Bussolaro (Marchiori) who passed away peacefully on December 9th, 2023 at the age of 83 after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.

Survived by her husband of 61 years Renato Bussolaro, son Robert Bussolaro (Diane), daughter Nadia Keturi (Terry Boileau), grandchildren Mathew Keturi, Nicole Keturi (fiancé Kyle Luciw), Alec and Michela Bussolaro. Beloved daughter of Ottavio and Assunta Marchiori (predeceased) and sister to Lavinia (predeceased), Giuseppe, Mario, Aurora, Lucia, and Michela Marchiori.

Born on August 30th, 1940, in Rossano, Veneto, Italy, she later immigrated to Canada in 1962 to join her future husband and settled in Sudbury. Together, they built a life here in Canada, yet her heart always belonged to Italy.

A homebody, Rita was an avid reader and talented seamstress who loved gardening and singing and had an appropriate song for every occasion. Her grandchildren adored her legendary lasagna, cappelletti and gnocchi. She was a member of the Caruso Club choir for many years and loved performing her beloved Italian songs. Alongside her bright smile, Rita loved to laugh, especially with her family, and saw the good in everyone she met.

The family would like to thank the team at VON, especially Brittany and Chelsey for the wonderful care and attention they provided for Rita. Also a special thank you to the staff of Maison McCulloch Hospice for their support during her short stay.

A funeral mass will take place on Thursday, December 14th at 11 AM at Our Lady of Hope Parish, 591 Brennan Road, Sudbury. The family welcomes friends to join them at 10:30 AM prior to the mass in celebration of Rita’s life.

Should you wish to make a donation in Rita’s name, kindly consider the Maison McCulloch Hospice.
