CALABRESE, Cristina  - In Loving Memory of Cristina (nee Barbaro) Calabrese 81 years Saturday, April 2nd, 2011 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital. Beloved wife of Giovanni Calabrese predeceased 1998. Loving mother of Maria Nizzero (Claudio), Josie Calabrese, Andy Calabrese, Camilla Goegan (Roger), Antonietta Calabrese and Pierina Calabrese. Cherished Nonna of Dr. Chris Nizzero (Sabrina), Steven Nizzero (fiancée Karen Taylor), Teyanna Calabrese and Adam Goegan. Dear daughter of Giuseppe and Camilla (Maraia) Barbaro predeceased. Dear sister of Assunta Spadavecchia (husband Michele) and Antonio Barbaro (wife Anna) and Anita Sodo, predeceased by Mauretta Pagano, Rosa Carnivale, Gennaro, Michele and Pietro Barbaro. Sadly missed by loving nieces and nephews. Born in Italy, Cristina moved to Sudbury in 1956. She married Giovanni Calabrese in 1957 in Sudbury. A devout Roman Catholic, she belonged to Christ the King Church. She was an excellent cook and baker who was happiest hosting family dinners. The focus of her life was her family. She took great pride and interest in their activities and accomplishments. The light of her life will be cherished by all who knew and loved her. As she is now reunited with her husband in Heaven, they will be guardian angels for their children and grandchildren. Resting at the Lougheed Funeral Home, 252 Regent St. at Hazel St. Funeral Mass in Christ the King Church, 30 Beech St., Sudbury Tuesday, April 5th, 2011 at 10AM. Interment in the family plot at the Parklawn Cemetery. Prayers at 3pm Monday. Donations to Heart and Stroke Fund or Regional Cancer Program would be appreciated.(Friends may call 2-5; 7-9pm Monday)
