Ezio Calvano passed away peacefully at home in Sudbury surrounded by his loving family on March 26th, 2024 in his 95th year.

Born in Carpineto Romano in Italy, he immigrated to Canada for a better life in 1954. On February 27th, 1960 he wed his beautiful bride Maria(nee Pucinischi). They soon started their family consisting of Bruno (Robin), Ida Harrison (Trent) and Paolo( Carrie).  

Nonno, will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren Eryn (Jona), Ethan( Kendall), Jamie, Hilary(Jesse), Joshua and Brady. He was also blessed to welcome his great grandchildren Emmelyn, Zaidee, Lincoln and Jackson. Predeceased by his siblings and their spouses, Orlando (Elena) of Sudbury, Pietro (Cleofe), Anita Lucatelli (Luigi) of Italy and Luigina Santucci (Constatino) of Australia. 

Ezio retired from Inco in 1990, after having worked there for 34 years. Over the years, Ezio’s passions included having one of the most productive gardens and meticulously maintained lawns in the neighbourhood, relaxing underneath his grapevines, going for early morning walks, making his own wine, and savouring the spectacular meals that Maria would create for the family. He thoroughly enjoyed spending Monday & Friday nights with Paolo, Joshua & Brady watching wrestling. 

As per his wishes there will be no funeral visitation. 

A funeral mass will be celebrated at St-Patrick’s Catholic Church located at 39 Walford Rd, in Greater Sudbury on Thursday April 4th at 10:30 AM.

The family extends its gratitude to the staff of Bayshore Home Care Solutions North East and a heartfelt appreciation to Ezio’s niece Dina and her daughters Vanessa and Kristyn. A special thank you to his nurse Taylor for her genuine care. 

Ezio will be fondly remembered by close friends and many nieces and nephews from Canada, United States, Italy, Australia, and France.
