CANAPINI, Mary “Mae“ (nee Desotti) - In loving memory of Mary “Mae“ Canapini (nee Desotti) who passed away peacefully at Maison Vale Hospice on November 9th, 2011 in her 92nd year. Beloved wife of the late Romando “Mac“ Canapini, predeceased in 2008. Loving mother of George (Anna) and Dan (Dale) both of Sudbury. Cherished “Nonni Mae“ of Avery. Predeceased by her parents Giovanni and Catarina Desotti, her sisters Theresa and Catherine and her brothers Edwino, George and Alfred. Survived by her twin Angelina Piccini (Umberto “Bert“ predeceased) of Copper Cliff, and sister Olga Felicioni (Guido “Squink“ predeceased) of Toronto. Special sister in law of Lena Desotti and Irene Canapini. Fondly remembered by many friends, relatives, nieces and nephews. Mae was born and raised in Copper Cliff's “Little Italy“ and married Mac in 1948. She was a devout Roman Catholic and a member of the Catholic Women's League of St. Stanislaus Church in Copper Cliff for over 50 years. She sang in the church choir with Mac for many years. Mae was a life member of the Copper Cliff Italian Club, where she bowled and played bocce in her younger years. She worked at INCO during the Second World War. She enjoyed sharing her gardening techniques with her niece Eleanor. Mae loved sewing and cooking and was famous for her gnocchi, lasagne, pasatelli soup, homemade pasta and sauce, and blueberry pies. She loved being around family and friends and was always willing to share her expertise in the kitchen. Resting at the JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St., Sudbury Friday, November 11th, 2011. Friends may call 2-9 pm. Prayers 4 pm. Funeral Mass in St. Stanislaus Church, 78 Balsam St., Copper Cliff Saturday, November 12th, 2011 at 10 am. A celebration of Mae's life will also be held at the Copper Cliff Italian Club following the funeral. Donations to the Maison Vale Hospice or St. Stanislaus Church in Copper Cliff would be greatly appreciated.
