CARDINAL, Gérard “Gerry“ - It is with great sorrow that the family announces his death in Sudbury on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at the age of 61 years. Son of the late Henri Cardinal and late Jeanne D'Arc (née Beauvais) Cardinal. Beloved husband and best friend of 39 years to Rachel (née Roy) Cardinal. Loving father of Rose-Anne Cardinal (Adam Kehoe) and Joel Cardinal (Nicole Luchyshin). Special canine daddy to Rocky, his special “petit péteux“. Dear brother of Léopold Cardinal, Aime Cardinal, Lilyanne Hietala (Aapo), Georges Cardinal and Armand Cardinal (Louise). Predeceased by his brother and sisters; Henriette (Léo Fay), Rose May (Colin Pick), Gisèle, and Normand Cardinal. Sadly missed by his “grandpuppies“ Ozzy, Deezsel, and Duke. Working for many years with Falconbridge, he will be remembered as a devoted family man who took much pride in his children. Strong, loving and gentle, the worse thing he would ever say was “ahhh . . . Fudge ! ! ! “. Missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. The family will receive relatives and friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd. E. (at Notre-Dame), Sudbury, Thursday, May 24, 2012 from 2-5 and 7- 9:30 p.m. A funeral service will be held Friday, May 25, 2012 at 10 a.m. in the funeral home Chapel, Sudbury.
