CARDINAL, Roger - The family announces with sorrow, Roger's death in Port Richey, Florida, Friday, April 20, 2012 at the age of 68 years. Son of the late Arthur and the late Georgianne (née Lagrandeur) Cardinal. Beloved husband of Claire Cardinal (née Valade) of Sudbury. Loving father of Denise Blake (Roger) of Sudbury and Robert Cardinal (Brenda) of Garson. Dear brother of Léonard Cardinal (Lisette) of Hanmer. Predeceased by his brother Réjean Cardinal (Hélène of Sudbury). Cherished grandfather of Paul Blake, Joseph Blake, Amy Cardinal and Éric Cardinal. Lovingly remembered by many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Roger was a past member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a hockey coach at the minor hockey level. He also worked as a security guard at the Sudbury Arena for over 20 years. Roger was an avid golfer enjoying many rounds with friends and family. He was an accomplished bowler and coach, having been part of a team that won the Canadian Championships. He has made many friends across Canada. He was most proud of being a Master bowler for over 30 years and teaching the sport that he loved to kids in the Youth Bowling Council. The family will receive relatives and friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd. E. (at Notre-Dame), Sudbury, Wednesday, May 2, 2012 from 2-5 and 7- 9:30 p.m. and Thursday, May 3, 2012 after 10 a.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday, May 3, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in St-Dominique Church, Sudbury.
