CARMICHAEL, “Jim“ James Kenneth - In Loving Memory of James “Jim“ K. Carmichael 83 years Tuesday, July 17th, 2012 at the Maison Vale Hospice, Sudbury. Beloved husband of Betty (Sanders) Carmichael. Loving father of Mark Carmichael (wife Kim). Cherished grandfather of Krista (husband Ryan Wicklander) and Todd (Kate). Dear son of Emmerson & Gladys Carmichael predeceased. Dear brother of Joan McFarland (husband Basil predeceased) and Robert Carmichael (wife Lois) and predeceased by Mickey and Bill. Sadly missed by nieces and nephews. Born and raised in Falconbridge, Jim was a well- respected accountant with Falconbridge Ltd., retiring in 1985 with 35 years service and then worked with his son's company, Carmichael Office Supply as their accountant for several years. A dedicated member of Glad Tidings Tabernacle he actively participated in the church's ministries and fellowship having been an usher for 33 years. He was a longtime competitive member of the Nickel District Badminton Club during the winter and an active tennis player in the summer. He and his wife were avid bowlers for 40 years. He was devoted to his loving family, attentive caregiver to his wife, proud supporter and friend to his son and daughter-in-law and adoring grandfather to his precious grandchildren. Jim's light will be cherished by all who knew and loved him. He can echo the words of St. Paul – “I fought the good fight. I finished my course. I kept the faith.“ Resting at the JACKSON & BARNARD FUNERAL HOME 233 Larch St., Sudbury (Friends may call 2-5; 7-9pm Thursday). Funeral Service in Glad Tidings Tabernacle 1101 Regent St., Sudbury Friday, July 20th, 2012 at 11am Interment in the Civic Cemetery, Sudbury.
