The family announces with sorrow Gerry Cauvier’s sudden passing on Friday evening, June 2, 2023, at the age of 87 years. Predeceased by his first wife Jenn Cauvier. Dear son of the late Albertine Nicolas and George Tancred Cauvier. Predeceased by his brother, Gaetan Cauvier and 10 sisters Lilah, Regine, Gaby, Lucette, Claudette, Olive, Carole, Murielle, Ginette, and Suzie. Survived by Laurence, Alain, and Florent (Diane). He will sadly be missed by his wife of 15 years Lucille Thibert and her 3 children Diane Blanchard ( Robert ), Bob Thibert ( Monique Bourget) and Monique Leclair ( Marc). He will always be remembered by his 7 grandchildren Christal Blanchard ( Maryn ), Melodie Winn ( Bruce), Justin Thibert ( Megan), Patrick Thibert ( Deandra), Sébastien Thibert ( Max), Stéphane Leclair ( Kate) and Julie Bisson ( Travis) and the close bond he had with his 9 great grand children Nash, Cruz, Arya, Talia, Wyatt, Ivy, Phebie, Félix, Lucas, Daxel, Makéo, and Mérix. He will also be missed by many close family members and close friends such as Margo, Christine, and Aylmer.

Born in Gaspésie, Québec. He worked in many construction fields such as masonry, carpentry, and roofing where he settled in North Bay, Bonsfield and Sudbury ON. He was a man with many passions which included his family, helping others, boating, joking, woodwork, watching wrestling, singing, and proudly playing music.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the Health Sciences North and Maison McCulloch Hospice. The Funeral Mass will be held at St Jean de Brebeuf, 26 Kathleen St, Sudbury, ON, on Friday, June 9th, 2023 at 11:00 am. Donations can be made directly to the Maison McCulloch Hospice, 1028 South Bay Rd, Sudbury ON, P3E 6J7.
