Yvon Cayer (68) of Sudbury, ON passed away on Wednesday, March 20th, 2024.

Yvon is survived by his two children Shawn (spouse) Sherry and Cindy-Lee (spouse) Dwayne.  Along with his grandchildren Mathew, Travis, Kristen, Nathan and Owen and great grandchildren Mathias Jr, Hudson, Caspen, Amaiyah and Emerson. Along with many nieces and nephews.

He is also survived by his sisters Louise, Anita and Annette and his brother Paul.

Yvon was predeceased by his parents August and Yvonne and his siblings Daurice, Tony, Edmond, Normand, Marie, Irene, Leonard, Larry, Claudette, Jerome, George, Andy and Anna.

Yvon was an avid Rookie race car driver in his younger years.  He was passionate about giving back to the community and was always the first to sign up for a volunteering event and held Volunteer Fire Chief for over 25 years in the Awrey township during his time of service, he was recognized with several medals for his service.  Yvon was a hard-working family man and owned his small trucking company Cayer Classic Trucking until his early retirement due to illness.

Over the past 10 years despite spending much of that time in and out of the hospital, he never lost his sense of humour or gave up.  Throughout his entire journey, he cracked jokes with his family, doctors and nurses right until the end.  He had a great ability to make others smile.
