April 21, 2023 (75)

It is with vey heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and grandfather Ronald Lee. Ron was born to Walter and Edith (Lye) Lee in February of 1948 in Garson Ontario.

Ron was married to the love of his life and best friend Susanne (Zahorouski) Lee for 55 amazing years. Together Ron and Sue built a beautiful life full of love and laughter for their 3 children, Trevor (Pauline) Lee, Lori (Yvon) Lafreniere, and Alison (David) Lahti. Ron was an extremely proud Grandpa to Jesse and Dylan (Natasha) Lee, Marley (Dylan) Lafreniere, Mikaela (Max) Orok, Tyler (Ryley), Brooke (Steve), and Faith (Nick) Lahti. And a Great Grandfather to his littlest loves Olivia, Christopher, and Ella.

Ron was the baby brother of Ruth (Reg) Amyot and predeceased by brother Thomas (Shirley) Lee. And a very special brother in-law to Kim and Dennis Gainer and Ron Zahorouski. All of Ron's nephews and cousins held a very special place in his heart.

The world has lost such an incredible man that has touched the lives of so many. The love shared between our parents is one to be admired and envied. Together since they were 16 and 17 years old, life has taken them on many journeys together. Dad had a real love for travel and was always planning the next adventure with his best friend by his side. He truly was the richest man in the world.

Ron worked hard all his life as a salesman, and finally retired from New Sudbury Volkswagen in 2020. Living the life of a salesman, Ron made many good relationships with his customers.  It didn't matter which city, province, or country he took us to, we always had to stop for Dad to chat with someone he knew.

His love of cars not only reflected in his work life, but old cars were his passion that he loved to share with everyone. He was a proud owner of several antique cars, and he had a wall full of trophies and awards to show for it. His passion for old cars and NASCAR races were just a couple of the many things he loved to share with his children and grandchildren.

Dad was always happiest with family and friends around him. He has left us an incredible legacy of love, lots of laughter, and the wisdom of knowing how important family is. Along with many other lessons Dad has taught us, he always reminded us of his words to live by. "Eating has nothing to do with being hungry ", "You can't buy a beer with a thank you", and "You can't buy cool". We will forever miss that witty sense of humor and forever feel the love you gave us.

The family would like to sincerely thank the doctors and nurses in the emergency department and 8th floor of HSN for the excellent care and compassion they showed for not only our husband and Dad, but for the entire family.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, May 27th, 2023 at the Holiday Inn, 1696 Regent Street, Sudbury where friends may gather from 1-4pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation in his name. (Arrangements entrusted to Sudbury Park Lawn Services).
