Verna Anne Paradis – Dumont 1942 – 2023
The family announces with great sadness, her passing on Thursday, November 9th, 2023 in Sudbury at the age of 81 years. Daughter of the late Arthur and of the late Marie (née Bernard) Dumont. Loving mother of Pierre (Jo-Anne). She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her beloved grandchildren Christian and Pascal. Survived by her sisters Jacqueline Sirois (late Dan) and Dolly Beland (late Marcel). Predeceased by her siblings Bernard (Pam), Mary Beland (late Ernest), and Sonny. Loving aunt to many nieces and nephews and their children in particular Lucie (Ryan), Anne (Dan) and nephew Danny (Karen). She will be missed by her fur babies Rosie, Diego and Max.
Verna is remembered as an extraordinary, devoted teacher for over 33 years for the French Catholic school board of Sudbury. She touched the lives of hundreds of children across her career. She loved knitting, dog sitting but most of all, she loved spending time with her two grandsons, taking them on so many adventurous trips, for fish and chips and ice cream. Verna is remembered as the most selfless, generous mother, gram, mother-in-law, sister, etc.
The family would like to thank the kind, diligent, expert staff at HSN on the ICU floor. Special gratitude to nurse Brody, Dr. Bahtia, Dr. Harvey, Dr. Curran and Dr. Nurullah!
A celebration of life will be held at the St. John's Cemetery in Garson, ON, on Friday, April 19, 2024 at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made at Pet Save where she donated many hand made blankets.
