Andre Piette Sr. (1942-2024)
It is with great sadness that the family announces his passing on Thursday January 18, 2024, at the age of 82 years. Predeceased by his parents Joseph (Joe) and Delphina (nee Giguere) of Lavigne, Ontario. Beloved husband of Claire (nee Larocque) for 60 years.
For the past two decades, Andre could be seen driving taxi in the Sudbury area. Whether it was for his own company or for other Brokers, he was always proud and dedicated to his field. He also worked as a miner for many years while still in his prime. When not working, he loved to hunt and fish with family and friends. He also had a passion for music, having the ability to play multiple instruments, family get togethers would often be spirited with some good fiddle tunes and guitar picking. Andre was an avid hockey fan, hockey Dad and hockey Pappa. He supported his children and grandchildren in every way possible. He wasn’t the best but you’ll never find anyone better.
Loving father of Monique (predeceased), Richard (Debbie), Guy (Barb), Andre Jr. (Crystal) and Michele (daughter in law), He was a loving grandfather of 15 and a great-grandfather of 19.
Andre was the youngest of 12 siblings. Predeceased by Simone Lafreniere, Celine Godin, Cecile Ranger, Seraphin (Sam), Raymond, Leonard, Denise Perreault and Therese Youn. Survived by Analda Rondeau, Denis and Georgette Rivest.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday March 9, 2024, from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm, at the Cultural Centre, 2777 Main Street, Blezard Valley.
