CHARTIER, Gerald “Gerry“ Roland - Sir Knight Gerald Roland Chartier passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at his side at the Health Sciences North on Wednesday April 25th, 2012. Loving husband and soulmate of Nicole Prevost Chartier of 39 years. Loving father of Andre (Nicole) and Lisa Anne ( Leo Guenette) both of Val Caron. Gerry will also be missed by his dearest and most precious grandchildren Kirstin and David Steele. Beloved godfather of Eric Prevost and Melanie Goulard. Dear son of the late Alex (predeceased 1974) and Dora (nee Duhaime) also predeceased in 2006. Special and dear brother of Jeannine (Jeff) Turcotte of Wahnapitae, Claire Goulard Rainville (Ray) of Val Caron. Predeceased by his brother Germain and his sister Rita and also by his brother in law Hector Goulard and his nephew Rheal Goulard. Devoted and loved son in law of Aldege and Yvette Prevost of Sudbury, brother -in-law Gilles Prevost (Colette ) of Hanmer, Patrick (Lise) of Sudbury, Yvon (Monique ) of Val Caron and by his sister-in-law Huguette Prevost Bedard (Maurice) of Manitoulin Island. Loved and cherished by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Retired after 30 years Falconbridge Limited. (Xstrata) Gerry was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 5005 Hanmer and a member of the Fourth Degree Assembly 1746 St Jacques Hanmer. Gerry lived life to the fullest, enjoyed travelling, camping and bowling. Gerry also did a lot of volunteer work. His unconditional love, his great smile and friendship will always be remembered. Family will receive greetings 1 hour prior to a memorial mass to be held at St Marguerite d'Youville Church, Highway 69 North, Val Therese on Wednesday, May 2nd, 2012 at 10:30 am. Friends may gather at the church after 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium. In lieu of flowers donations to the ALS Society (Lou Gehrig's disease) would be appreciated. A special thanks to Doctor Paul Malette, staff at CCAC, We Care, Warm Hearts and all staff at the Health Sciences North. Arrangements entrusted to the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME.
