CHAYER, Jean Marc

March 8, 2011 71

CHAYER, Jean Marc (Moune) - (1939- 2011) Mayor, Municipality of Markstay Warren 2006-2010. It with heavy hearts and deep sadness that his family announces his death in Sturgeon Falls, Sunday March 6, 2011 at the age of 71 years. Son of the late Léo Chayer and the late Emela (née Marion) Chayer. Much loved husband and best friend of Ila Chayer (née Eden) of Warren. Respected and honored father of Danica Pegoraro (Andrew) and Lesa Chayer both of Warren, Jean Marc Jr. (Julie) and Richard both of Sudbury. Moune will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Tony, Joé, Jayden-Moune and Bryanna. Dear brother of Carmel Bole (late Lyle) of Verner, Fernande McDonald (Brian), Cécile Brown (Kenneth) both of Sudbury, Bernadette McGillis (late Stanley) of Markstay, Roland (Claudette) of Warren and Rolande Sutcliffe (Ronald) of North Bay. Predeceased by his brother Rheal and his sister Madeleine Sabourin. A kind and gentle man, Moune was always bigger than life itself, laughing, smiling and glowing through his full length white beard. A natural Santa Claus to many children, he was a self employed businessman operating heavy equipment, he was the owner and operator of Chayer Bus Lines and later he ran for public office. As mayor, he sat on many local boards such as the Manitoulin Sudbury DSSAB, the Sudbury East Municipal, the Sudbury East Planning Board, CPP Review Tribunal Board to name a few. Although many may have disagreed with his opinions, it was impossible to dislike the man. A lifelong resident of Warren, his memory will live on among his many friends and coffee buddies at Bob's Garage. The family will receive friends at the THEORET BOURGEOIS CENTER, 17 Rutland Street, Warren, Friday March 11 from 2- 4 p.m. A celebration of Moune Chayer's life will follow at 4:30 in the chapel. Donations to the Northern Cancer Research Foundation would be appreciated (cheques only) www.theoretbourgeois.com
