CHOPTIAN, William - In loving memory of William Choptian 77 years Peacefully, Thursday, August 9, 2012 at Health Sciences North with his loving family at his side. Beloved husband of Dolores (Cholette) Choptian predeceased 1977. Loving father of Lynn Langdon, Louise Gouin (husband Michel), Sandra Choptian (spouse Brian Thompson), Joanne Chevrier (spouse Bob Lamothe) and Barry Choptian. Cherished grandfather of Sharlene (Denis Chauvin), Melissa, Jennifer, Lucien, Gordon, Nathan, Steven and great grandchildren Abigail, Allison, Seth and Hayden. Dear son of Steve and Mary Choptian predeceased. Dear brother of 13 brothers and sisters all predeceased. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Dear companion to Jerry Kabourek. Born in Ethelbert, Manitoba, William moved to Sudbury at age 16. He married Dolores (Cholette) in 1954. He was a miner at INCO for 41 years, retiring in 1990. He had been a Health and Safety Stewards for USWA. He volunteered at the Ukrainian National Federation and also the Ukrainian Sr. Center. He enjoyed music, especially playing the guitar and singing, gardening and the outdoors. Bill will be remembered for his great sense of humour and devoted to his loving family. Resting at the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME Hanmer/Capreol, 4605 Michelle Dr., Hanmer. (Friends may call 2-5; 7-9 p.m. Sunday and parish prayers at 4:30 p.m.) Funeral Mass in St. Kevin's Church, Val Therese Monday, August 13th, 2012 at 10 a.m. Interment in the family plot at the Valley East Cemetery.
