CHORNY, Stephen - In loving memory of Stephen Chorny of Sudbury, 87 years, also previously known as Stephen Black. Stephen passed away peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by his closest friends on Wednesday May 9th, 2012. Stephen was born May 21st 1924 in Coniston and is predeceased by his father Alex, mother Justina and siblings Annie Wasylenki (Walter), Peter, Mike (Audrey), John, Sophie, William (Nellie) and Mary Naujokas (Mike). Stephen had nieces and nephews. Stephen was an active member as one of Jehovah's Witnesses to which he dedicated his life in 1957. Stephen worked for Inco for 41 years in the Transportation Department. He was an avid traveler, which included visiting Japan, England and Hawaii. He was a serious collector of model airplanes and loved flying, and he obtained his pilot's license in 1948. Stephen enjoyed laughter with friends, meals, games and having fun. He would often be seen going for country walks with his German Shepherd companion. Stephen was happy, always positive and well liked by all and will be missed by his many friends who shared his faith. Although Stephen never married nor had children he will be sadly missed by his adoptive family and cherished close friends, Michael and Pamela Boczek and their sons Malcolm and Elliott to whom he became, “Grampa Steve“. Funeral Talk, Wednesday May 16th, 2012 at 7:00 pm, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1050 Lonsdale Avenue, Sudbury. Fellowship to follow.
