CIESLEWICZ, Eva

January 7, 2013 87

CIESLEWICZ, Eva (Demjaniec) - In Loving Memory of Eva (Demjaniec) Cieslewicz 87 years Sunday, January 6th, 2013 at St. Joseph's Villa, Sudbury. Beloved wife of Stefan Cieslewicz predeceased 1991. Loving mother of Edward and Alex (Jacqueline Lavallie-Cieslewicz). Cherished grandmother “Babcia“ of Leah and Lauren. Born in Poland, she overcame many challenges in her early life, serving time in prison camps during the war. She moved to Canada, and married Stefan in 1950. Eva worked hard to learn English and become an RNA. She enjoyed nursing and spent many years on the Maternity Floor, where her excellent language abilities allowed her to provide support for women from Eastern Europe. She was a wonderful cook and baker, and she raised the taste of the lowly Christmas Cake to a holiday treat everyone desired. Eva had a green thumb and was a skilled gardener, her famous tomato plants were often taller than her. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, always proud of her family. Special thanks to Dr. R. Sawkiw, the staff at Red Cross, and more recently the staff of Health Sciences North (main site and Memorial Site) and St. Joseph's Villa for their care and kindness. Resting at the JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME 233 Larch St., Sudbury Funeral Mass in Holy Trinity Church Burton Ave, Sudbury Wednesday, January 9th, 2013 at 10am. Interment in the Civic Memorial Cemetery. Prayers 3 pm Tuesday. Donations to the Alzheimer Society or the Arthritis Society would be appreciated. (Friends may call 2-4; 7-9pm Tuesday).
