COURCHESNE, Lionel Joseph Fernand - With deep sorrow the family announce the death of Lionel Courchesne at the age of 81 years. Mr Courchesne passed away suddenly at Temiskaming Hospital Friday, March 11, 2011. Born at Lavigne on October 15, 1929 to the late Télesphore Courchesne and the late Marie-Anne Aubin. Mr Courchesne had worked at the old Misericordia Hospital and Temiskaming Hospital for over forty years. He was a faithful member of Eglise Sainte-Croix, an avid reader and he also loved listening to classical music. Mr Courchesne is predeceased by his wife Thérèse in 1996, daughter Diane in 1972. Sadly missed by his son Jean-François “Corky“ [Rhonda] Courchesne of Onaping. Fondly remembered by his grandchildren: Dee- Anna [Kristopher] Loranger-Guindon, Jean- François Jr, Cassandra [Daniel] Grisdale and Richard [Alicia Rivers-Fournier] Fournier; great-grandchildren: Vienna Guindon, Makayla Grisdale and Nicole Fournier. Also left to mourn are his siblings: Georgiana Courchesne, Agnes [late Aurèle] Valcourt, Thérèse Levesque, Jeanne d'Arc Newton, Claude Courchesne and Jean-Paul Courchesne. The Courchesne Family will receive friends at the BUFFAM LEVEILLE FUNERAL HOME - Haileybury, Sunday 2: to 4:pm and 7: to 9:pm and Monday morning beginning at 9:am. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, March 14, 2011 at 11:am from Eglise Sainte- Croix/Holy Cross Church - Haileybury. Spring interment will take place at the Haileybury Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada or Community Cancer Support will be gratefully acknowledged.
