CRAIG, Allis Aza Anita - In Loving Memory of Allis Aza Anita Craig (nee Marchesseault), 79 years, Tuesday, October 23rd, 2012 at Health Sciences North. Beloved wife of John Craig of Noelville and mother of three children David (Jacky) of Sault Lookout, ON, Ian of Sudbury, ON and daughter Laurie (Brian Greer) of Alvenston, ON . Loving grandmother of Ryan and Caitlin Craig and Sarah and Colin Greer and Keelan Viau and granddaughter Kaleigh Greer, age 3 months (predeceased). Dear daughter of George and Kathleen Marchesseault of Chapleau, ON both predeceased. Loving sister of two brothers David and Ernest both predeceased and one sister Pearl (Doug Patrick) of Sault Ste Marie. Allis was born in Regina, Saskatchewan on September 8, 1933 where she received her early education and collegiate. The family moved to Chapleau, Ontario during the after war years where she worked as a Bell Operator for many years, introducing dial to Chapleau, Blind River and Elliot Lake. Those journeys introduced her to her husband John an OPP Constable and brought her to Chapleau, Gogama, Noelville and Forest. In remote areas of Northern, Ontario she enjoyed the title “Mrs. Chief“. A long member of the French River Lioness Club, The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 640 altarning 3rd Vice President, member and Past Matron of Forest Branch 116 of The Order of the Eastern Star. A long association with the Ontario Provincial Police Veterans Association, 20 plus years, allowed her to meet many people throughout the province. With her husband she enjoyed a 50 year membership with The Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters attending many Fish and Wildlife conferences where she presented a Strong Voice. She was a strong adversary for Conservation and worked diligently for those less fortunate. We cherish her memory in our hearts. Funeral Service in the Calvary Mennonite Church Monetville Saturday, October 27th, 2012 at 1pm. Interment in the Monetville Cemetery. Donations to the Daffodil Terrace at the NCF - Regional Cancer Center would be appreciated. (Friends may gather at the church after 11am Saturday).
