CRICHTON, Evelyn

November 4, 2011 84

CRICHTON, Evelyn Margaret - Peacefully and surrounded with love Evelyn Margaret Crichton passed away at the Memorial site on November 2, 2011. Evy was not separated long from her loving husband Ralph who died on February 9th of this year. Born in Coniston in 1927 she was the daughter of James Radey and Ellen McCann. She grew up on Beech street where she was part of a loving family and great community. She was predeceased by siblings John, Mae Moore, (Emmanuel), Annie Belter (Ray), Rita Bowman, Paddy and Edmond. She is survived by her brother Matt (Mary predeceased) and brother in law Gordon Bowman. She was loved and will be missed by her in laws Roger and Kaireen Crichton and Reta and Robbie Robertson (Ignatius Hickey predeceased) and many nieces and nephews who stayed connected with Evy till the end. Evy married Ralph in 1950 and made her life's work the commitment to and care of her marriage and family. She loved unconditionally her children Jim (Agnes), Judi Brabant (Yvon), Bob (Laura), Janet Gasparini (Gil), and Tom (Sarah). That love extended to her ever growing family that included grandchildren Bridget Brosko (Derek), Jennifer Crichton, Paul Brabant (Meredith),Sean Brabant (Callie), Lisa McLaren, Cassandra and Michael Crichton, Katie Richardson (Cliff), Carly Gasparini (Peter Whittington), Kristina and Kelsey Gasparini, Amelia, William and Sam Crichton, as well as great grandchildren Emilie, Sophie, Carter, Owen, Ruby, Quin, Alexis, Dawson, Anderson and Annabelle. Along with her devotion to family Evy was a contributor to her community. She was a life time member of the CWL at Holy Redeemer Church having served as President and in many other capacities. She delivered Meals on Wheels as well as sitting on their Board of Directors, volunteered at the Soup Kitchen, and contributed to Pius XII school for a number of years when her children were students there. Ralph and Evy had a long and happy life. The things that mattered most were family, friends and faith and they felt blessed in all areas. They taught us the value of unconditional love. That contributing and caring were the most important things. Even in this last year when we lost them both, as children we grew closer, supporting one another and caring for our mother in a way that would have made our father proud. Our prayer is that their love and legacy continues to live through us and our children and grandchildren. Special thanks to Flo Girard who contributed so much to Evy's care and to the wonderful staff on the 8th floor at the Ramsey Lake Health Centre and the 4th floor at the Memorial site. We will celebrate her life on Saturday November 5, 2011 at 10 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Church. Friends may call at JACKSON & BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St., Sudbury on Friday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9.
