CRISTANTE, Erminio - In Loving Memory of Erminio Cristante 87 years Tuesday February 28th, 2012 at Extendicare York, Sudbury. Beloved husband of Dianella “Nella“ (Fabris) Cristante predeceased 2007. Loving father of Nevio. Cherished son of Antonio and Teresa (Francescutti) Cristante predeceased. Loving brother of Celso Cristante and Tiziano Cristante. Loving brother in law to Pietro Fabris (wife Bruna), Caterina Cozzarini (husband Erminio predeceased), Maria Iuston (husband Gian) and Severina Cozzarini (husband Silvano predeceased). Special uncle to Carmen, Vivian, Lillian, Elio, Sandra, Flavia, Patrizia, Stephania, Francesca, Alberto, Michele, Francis, Alain, Denis, Linda and Lucio. Erminio was born in San Giovanni di Casarsa, Pordenone, Italy where he started working as a barber at age 13 and married Dianella (Fabris) in 1956. He came to Sudbury in 1961. He was a well-known and liked barber for over 30 years in Creighton Mine. He will be remembered for his inspired discussions about sports, politics and history. A generous man, he was always kind to those unable to afford a haircut or if on strike from work. Erminio was a member of Foglar Furlan and St. Patrick's Church. Erminio loved life, having many interests and passions which included fishing, hunting, picking mushrooms and especially soccer. He enjoyed being with friends and family and sharing his wonderful sense of humour. The family expresses their appreciation to the staff of Extendicare York for their excellent care and support. Resting at the JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St., Sudbury Funeral Mass in St. Patrick's Church, 39 Walford Road, Sudbury Friday, March 2nd, 2012 at 10am Interment in the family plot at St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Prayers 7:30pm. Thursday. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Extendicare York Residents' Council would be appreciated. (Friends may call 2-5; 7- 9pm Thursday).
