DEGAGNE, Velma

In Loving Memory of Velma (Sawyer) Degagne, 74 years. On April 23rd, 2011 with her family by her side, Velma was reunited with her beloved husband Leo. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends. A mother’s love is a gift that always lives with us. A gift for daughters Marilyn (Terry) Stewart, Brenda, Leslie (Frank Marincola) and her son David (Barb). Velma was devoted to her grandchildren and will be dearly missed by Karl, Stephanie, Matthew, Michelle, Micayla, Nathan and Noa. Velma will be held in the hearts of her sisters, brothers, many relatives and dear friends. Velma will be remembered as a fun-loving, outgoing member of the community, where she actively participated in the CWL, Capreol Ski Club, the Seniors Club and the Red Hatters. She was a talented cook, who loved to entertain. She played an active role in the lives of her children and grandchildren and was a loyal friend to many. The family wishes to acknowledge the care and support of the community with a special thanks to the palliative care team. Resting at the Lougheed Funeral Home Hanmer/Capreol Chapel 4605 Michelle Dr., Hanmer Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Peace Church, Capreol Wednesday, April 27th, 2011 at 11:30 a.m. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium. Donations to the SRHF – Cancer Center Children’s Program would be appreciated. Prayers at 3 p.m. Tuesday. (Friends may call 1-4 & 7-9 p.m. Tuesday)
