DELLA PORTA, Luigi - In Loving Memory of Luigi Della Porta 93 years. Peacefully Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Health Sciences North with his loving family at his side. Beloved husband of Cristina Della Porta predeceased 2001. Loving father of Giuseppa “Josie“ Rossi (husband Giuseppe) and Mario both of Sudbury. Cherished grandfather of Cristina Ferrucci (husband Roberto) and Claudia Rossi (Phil Nero) both of Sudbury. Special great grandfather to Vanessa Cristina Ferrucci. Dear son of Giuseppe and Maria Giuseppa (Della Morte) Della Porta both predeceased. Dear brother of Marietta Ingriselli (husband Andrea) both predeceased, Alberico (wife Silvia) both predeceased and Angelo (wife Anna) both predeceased. Sadly missed by many brothers and sisters in law and many nieces and nephews who often called him “Uncle Sam“. Born in Castel Campagnano, Italy where he married Cristina in 1944 and they came to Canada in 1955. He worked for many years at Weston's Bakery and then as a custodian for the Sudbury Catholic School Board retiring in 1984. He enjoyed spending time with his family, often hosting New Years parties in his basement, gardening and was always ready for a good time. Resting at the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME 252 Regent St., at Hazel St. (Friends may call 2-5; 7-9 p.m. Monday with parish prayers at 3 p.m. Monday). Funeral Mass in Christ the King Church 30 Beech St., Sudbury Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at 10 a.m. Entombment in the Civic Cemetery Mausoleum.
