DeMARCHI, Rita Chiara (nee Gasparini) - In loving memory of Rita Chiara DeMarchi (nee Gasparini), 82 years. Passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 20th, 2011 in her home surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of Battista predeceased 1988. Loving mother of Andy DeMarchi (wife Francine) of Jordan, Mary Snow (husband Fred) of Sudbury and Daniela Garbuio (husband Adriano) of Sudbury. Cherished Nonna of Ryan (Amanda) and Mike Snow, Stephen and Amanda DeMarchi, Kevin and Kristina Garbuio. Proud great grandmother of Chase DeMarchi. Dear daughter of Maria Antonia and Massimiliano Gasparini (both predeceased). Dear sister of Angelo, Gino and Maria (predeceased) and Ottavio, Bruno, Rosa, Luigia and Rev. Sr. Massimina all of Italy. She will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and cousins in Italy and many dear friends. Rita was born in Istrana Treviso Italy on February 29th, 1928 and came to Canada in 1952 to marry the love of her life, Battista. Rita's family was the centre of her life and she leaves a rich legacy of love, devotion and strength. Rita was a gentle and generous person who stole the hearts of all who met her. She was a gifted cook and gardener and also enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Rita took great delight in crocheting afghans for the Linus Project. Rita was a member of Trevisani nel Mondo, St. Paul the Apostle Church and 50 year member of the CWL. Resting at the JACKSON & BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury. Funeral Mass in St. Paul the Apostle Church, Coniston Wednesday, February 23rd, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Entombment in the Civic Memorial Mausoleum. Prayers 3pm Tuesday.
