DEMERS, Monique Marie-Joel - In loving memory of Monique Marie-Joel Demers (née Picotte), 63 years, Tuesday, February 22nd, 2011 at the Extendicare Falconbridge, Sudbury. Beloved wife of Rolland Demers. Loving mother of André (wife Ann), Dominic (wife Angele) and Jean-Guy (friend Julie). Cherished grandmother of Luc, Brianne, Eric and Emilie. Dear daughter of Gerard and Agathe Picotte predeceased. Dear sister of Magella Allard (husband Aurel predeceased), Rodrigue Picotte (wife Sylvianne), Liane Picotte, and Jean-Paul Picotte (wife Nancy). Sadly missed by nieces and nephews. Dear daughter in law of Alphire and Zita Demers both predeceased. Monique was born and raised in Rouyn. She married Rolland Demers in 1967 in Chapeau, Quebec, moving to Sudbury the same year. She enjoyed the outdoors where she fished, gardened and camped. An artistic person, she created beautiful paintings and crafts. A woman of faith, she prayed regularly at the Grotto. Monique was an outgoing person who was devoted to her loving family. The family expresses its sincere appreciation to the staff on the 2nd and 3rd floors at Extendicare Falconbridge for their excellent care and compassion. Resting at the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME 252 Regent St. at Hazel St. Funeral Mass in St. Jean de Brebeuf Church, Kathleen St. at Notre Dame Ave., Monday, February 28th, 2011 at 10am. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium. In lieu of flowers, donations to the ALS Society would be appreciated. Friends may call 3-5; 7-9 pm SUNDAY only.
