Who was referred to as elegant fire? Who was a role model for many? Who loved to read and learn? Who understood that life was a delicate balance to be enjoyed? Put simply by her own final words, “It was a wonderful experience. . .”
Janet (Donnelly) Depatie was a straight shooter, a playful creative, a courageous and generous woman who lived with integrity. She made her mark on the golf course, in local politics, and in the snowmobiling community. She was a wife, mother, GMA, sister, and a friend. Janet was many things to all whose lives she touched.
She left this world on a rainy April afternoon, much the same way she lived; with dignity, poise, and an abundance of strength. She was at her time of parting lovingly surrounded by her family. In her final hours she had four wishes for the world to hear:
1) Live a Good life.
2) Listen to understand. People are not right or wrong, we are only different.
3) Seek experiences instead of possessions.
4) Be considerate of the world and environment. We are all responsible for each other and the world we leave behind.
What we once enjoyed we can never lose; all that we love deeply becomes a part of us.
Janet will be forever in our hearts and always in our memories. She has honoured the past, and now we will honour her. We will miss her wonderful smile, her infectious laughter, her knowledge, and her playfulness.
Forever to be missed by her loving husband David and immediate family Jennifer, Jeffrey and wife Jessica, Kathie and spouse Ron. Loved and missed by Jade and Archer her wonderful grandchildren who brought her such joy. Also, sadly missed by her sister Sandra, husband Greg Haddad, and her three nephews, Johnathon, Robert, and Christopher.
