DOUGLAS, Gordon Allan - In loving memory of Gordon Allan Douglas, 66 years, who died suddenly at home February 5, 2012. Beloved husband and partner of 42 years to Karen (Beneteau). He will be greatly missed by his two children Allan (wife Melanie), and Colleen (Steve Flannagan). Loving and cherished 'Grandpa' to Kurtis, Robert John (RJ), Elizabeth, Alec and Bryanna. Loving son of Robert (predeceased) and Molly Douglas of Sudbury. Loving brother of Gerry (predeceased), Dorothy (Don Pogue), Heather (Brian England) and Debbie (Jeff Bell). Also survived by sisters-in-law Simone (Brian Beneteau predeceased) and Cathy Kennedy (Chris Martin). He was “Uncle Gord“ to many nieces and nephews who will miss his smiling face and gentile demeanour. After working for INCO for 33 years, he retired to summers at his dream cottage that he built in Kagawong on Manitoulin Island. Along with his wife Karen, he most cherished the long summer days boating and playing with the grandkids at the cottage as well as the warmth of winter months spent in Florida. He enjoyed his leisure time and shared many unspoken moments of love with his family. His subtle wit kept people smiling and his strength of character was respected by many. He will truly be missed and never forgotten. The family will receive relatives and friends at the JACKSON and BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St., Sudbury on Thursday, February 9, 2012 from 2-5 PM.
