April 26, 1949 – November 15, 2020

It is with heavy hearts that the Dubois family announces the passing of our dear father, husband, brother and friend, Normand. Norm died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.
If you knew Norm you probably know he worked on every bridge from Port Severn to Sault Ste. Marie but as sturdy as those bridges are, the ties he built with his family are stronger. Norm had six children but many others called him Dad because he was so loving and fun to be around. Quick to smile, laugh and joke, Norm was a light everywhere he went.
As a retiree, Norm started most mornings with a coffee and a tour around the Valley, followed by a few rounds of Crazy 8’s with his friend Don. By 3pm you could usually find him on his porch with friends and a beer. And, when Norm was not in the Valley, he was building camps for his kids on the French River.
Norm leaves behind his wife and best friend Genevieve Solomon Dubois and their children, Tim (Pam), Mike, Sean, Angèle, Lauren, Vanessa (Cameron) and Troy. His cherished grandchildren: Justin, Autumn, Desiree, Ty, Destiny, Samuel, Rowan, Angel, Jaxon, Zoey, Macey and Sawyer, will miss their Pepére dearly. Norm is also survived by his siblings Helene Dubois, Lorraine Tremblay and Claude Dubois (Lucille) along with many beloved nieces and nephews, sisters and brothers in law.
Normand is predeceased by his parents Laurent and Léonnette Dubois (nee Pilon) and his brothers Raymond Dubois, Robert Dubois and his Godchild Tina Dubois; they were surely thrilled to welcome him home.
The family wishes to thank the 4th floor Nurses at Health Sciences North and the Palliative Care team who arranged Norm’s final wish to come home.  We are also eternally grateful for the outpouring of love and support shown by our family and friends during this sad time.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to Epilepsy Toronto or to a charity of your choice would be much appreciated.
A Celebration of Norm’s life will be held in the spring of 2021.

Normand Dubois 26 avril 1949
