DUHAMEL, Lyn - of Boucherville. It is with great sorrow that her family announces her tragic death in Rougemont, Québec, Friday, May 14th, 2010, in her 39th year. Lyn was born and raised in Sudbury. She was living an active life in Boucherville, Québec. Beloved wife of Marc Flageole and stepmother to Marianne Flageole of Boucherville, cherished daughter of Norm and Claire Duhamel of Sudbury, most amazing sister to Jo-Anne (husband Pierre) Dumont of Sudbury, Carole (husband Ryan) Logtenberg of Garden Bay, B.C. and Norm (wife Kutty) Duhamel of Ottawa. Cherished daughter-in-law of Gaston and Monique (Paris) Flageole of Trois-Rivières and sister- in law to Hélène Flageole of Hamilton. Godmother to Pascal Dumont and Florent Billette. Will be sadly missed by her nephews, Christian, Pascal, Eden, Emma and Sydney and all her extended Duhamel and Flageole family and her many circles of wonderful friends. Lyn was a graduate of Collège Notre-Dame and Laurentian University. She moved to Montreal to practice nursing in the oncology department at the Jewish General Hospital, then at l' Hpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont. She was recently head nurse at Le Lux Gouverneur, retirement home. Lyn was a passionate triathlon and Ironman athlete. Her many achievements were completing five Ironman triathlons, Boston Marathon (2x) and many other races. She was training for the next Penticton Ironman Canada, B.C. She loved her dog Kona and two cats, Shiraz and Charlotte. She was an avid traveler but especially cherished the island of Hawaii. Lyn was a fiery, energetic, spirited soul who inspired many with her encouraging, uplifting, positive words. She loved and lived life to its fullest. She was a generous, giving and caring nurse who helped many deal with grief; an angel to all of her patients. Her work ethics were to be admired. Lyn was a fit competitor who loved to help and train others in attaining their goals. Visitations will be on Thursday, May 20th between 2 to 5 pm and 7 to 10 pm at the Complexe Funéraire Pierre Tétreault, in Boucherville, Québec. The funeral service will be held Friday, May 21st 2010, at 11 pm at the Paroisse de la Sainte-Famille, Boucherville. If so desired, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
