DUMONT, Ronald (Nook) - In loving memory of Ronald “Nook“ Dumont. It is with great sadness that the family announces the sorrow of his passing on Friday, March 4th, 2011 in his 77th year at the Sudbury Regional Hospital. Ron was surrounded by his loving wife, children, and grandchildren, who never left his bedside. Ron married his loving wife Marlene of 55 years in 1956 and started their family of five children. He was the devoted and loving husband of Marlene (O'Brien) and loving father of Joanne Therrien (husband Larry predeceased), Darlene, Mark (wife Paula), Ronald II (wife Sheila), Michael (wife Natalie). Cherished grandfather of Jason (Pamela), Graham (Melanie), Shannon, Quinn (Jessica), Liam (Zehra), Marissa (Patti), Brandon, Michelle, Ronald III, and great grandchildren Connor, Lennox and Kale. He will also be sadly missed by his canine pal Rocky and his feline friends. Loving son of Alphonse and Alma (Landry) Dumont predeceased. Dear brother of Joseph predeceased (Jean of Orleans), Annette McKee (Courtney and Antoine both deceased) of Cartier, Aldege predeceased (Anita and Rachelle both predeceased), Maria Thibeault predeceased (Clifford of Cartier), Leonne Pepin predeceased (Guy predeceased). Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, the O'Brien family, and friends. Ron started his working career at the age of 15 with the K.V.P. Logging Co., then worked for CP Rail for 17 years, and ended with Falconbridge Nickel Mine in 1994. He had a strong work ethic that gained him the respect of everyone who worked with him. Ron's life was devoted to his family and created a family of love and happiness. He gave generously of his knowledge, love, and laughter to family, friends, and his community. Ron instantly won the hearts of anyone who was fortunate to meet him. His legacy will live on in our hearts and memories forever and he will be dearly missed by all. The family is very grateful for the excellent care that Ron received during his stay in the hospital. The Doctors, Nurses, staff and Rob, his PSW, gave him the ultimate in care. Resting at the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME, 252 Regent St. at Hazel St. Funeral Mass in St. Francois Xavier Church Cartier Wednesday, March 9th, 2011 at 11am. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium. Donations to the Cancer Center or Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. Prayers 3:30pm Tuesday. (Friends may call 2-5; 7- 9pm Tuesday).
