Oscar (Robert Joseph) Dupont 1939-2023
It is with great sadness that the family announces his passing in Sudbury on Thursday, November 23rd 2023 at the age of 84 years. Son of the late Tom (Bartholome) Dupont and of the late Fleurette Dupont (née St-Aubin), dear husband for 62 years of Aline Dupont (née Pelletier), loving father of Judy Dupont, Lise Dupont- Smith (David) and Nicole Dupont (Peter). Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Kathleen and Émilie. Predeceased by his siblings Laurent, Gisèle, Murielle, Ernest, Léo and Marcel. Oscar was a really good guy, the best husband who loved his wife deeply, a loving and caring father and grandfather.
“Cash” was also a well-known musician who led The Fugitives and played in other bands. He was very proud of his years at Inco and his childhood in Mine Therese.
He was an excellent blueberry picker. He enjoyed playing hockey and was awarded coach of the year for the Midget team in the Valley. Cremation services provided by Simple Wishes of the North, Sudbury. The family wishes to thank Dr. Jason Sutherland and Dr. Abu Shama of Sudbury. A celebration of life will be held in the future.
