May 1, 2012

DUPUIS, Fernand Joseph - In Loving Memory of Fernand Joseph Dupuis. Passed away to rest in the arms of our God surrounded by all who loved him deeply on Sunday, April 29th, 2012 at the Maison Vale Hospice. Fern was born in Sudbury and for the past month has been fighting a battle for his life. He is survived by his best friend, his soul mate and constant companion Marilyn Lafreniere, his stepdaughter Dr. Ginette Lafreniere-Dialo (husband Dr. Lamine Dialo), stepson Pierre Lafreniere (wife Crystal) and grandson Isa. He was the son of Euclid and Therese Dupuis (predeceased) and brother of Jackie and Marilyn (both predeceased). He was a loving and caring husband of his first wife Margaret Geoffrey who passed away 28 years ago. They had four children, Jeffrey (wife Debbie), Debbie, Ronnie and Sherry. Fern was a blessing to his present family. He touched their lives and souls with his gentleness, kindness and witty sense of humour. His presence in their lives was truly a gift they will always be thankful for. Fern worked for Safety Supply for many years as a Safety System Installer and also worked at Northern Breweries for several years. He was a devoted Roman Catholic and served as a lay minister for many years at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. He enjoyed visiting the sick and dying and giving Holy Communion at their homes and hospital. He loved his “best furry friend“, little dog Patches who spent many hours with him. A very special thank you to the staff at the Maison Vale Hospice for their excellent care, support and outstanding kindness. Funeral Prayers will be held in the R. J. Barnard Chapel JACKSON & BARNARD FUNERAL HOME 233 Larch Street, Sudbury Wednesday, May 2nd, 2012 at 3pm. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium. Donations to the Maison Vale Hospice would be greatly appreciated. (Friends may call after 11:30am Wednesday).
