She spent twelve years raising her family and returned to teaching in 1966. She was a dedicated and well respected teacher, teaching at both Colonel David Younger and Princess Elizabeth Schools in Sudbury. She retired from teaching in 1986 and enjoyed many happy year with her family at her home in Skead on Lake Wanapitae. She enjoyed Jeopardy, swimming, knitting, puzzles and her daily crosswords. As soon as the weather turned cool she couldn't wait to head to her winter home in Clearwater Florida, where she made many good friends including Roxane and Paul Obenauf. An avid Toronto Blue Jay fan, she and Ed had a season pass to all their Spring Training games. All of her grandchildren have wonderful memories of Gramma patiently teaching them to float on their backs, to read, sing songs from her school song books, knit and bake. Carol was an honest, brave and courageous woman who fought many hard battles in the last few years. She never complained and always looked on the bright side. She will be missed by everyone who loved her. Special thanks to all the wonderful and caring staff and volunteers at Maison Vale Hospice and Dr. Shahata at the Northern Cancer Centre.
