January 20, 1961 – April 29, 2021

It is with heavy hearts, the family of Melodie Lisa Fairburn announces her passing after a courageous, long struggle with Multiple Sclerosis. Melodie will be lovingly remembered by her partner of many years Ted Callaghan, her daughter Farrah Garrett and Grandchildren Charlie and Claire. She will be missed and never forgotten by her sisters, Donna Landry and Lorie Fairburn. Also left to mourn is her extended family and many friends who will remember her magnetic personality and warm smile. Melodie will be forever recognized as a talented artist who was inspired by her Mother, Isabelle. Her artistic skills encompassed many creative areas with quilting being her true passion. Melodie was truly a multi-talented artist who designed and made quilts, jewellry, paintings, knitted items and greeting cards. Her family and friends will treasure the many handcrafted gifts they received. The family wishes to extend heart-filled thanks and gratitude to her Personal Support Workers who provided her with care, support and comfort over the years. They also want to express their appreciation to attending doctors and nurses, in particular Dr. Thakrar. While her entire family are grieving her death, they will take comfort in the fact that Melodie is now at peace and embraced in the arms of her higher power. Celebration of Melodie’s Life will be held at the R.J. Barnard chapel at the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch St., Sudbury on Monday, May 3, 2021 at 1pm.
