Surrounded by family, it is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Valerie Falldien after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 65. Cherished mother to her son Trent Falldien, loving daughter of Alice Rouselle and the late Jerry Pirozzi, sister to Barry Pirozzi and Garry Pirozzi, loving aunt to Ashley and Cody, stepmother of Nadia Currie, love of John (Jake) Currie, and special friends of Anna, Dr. Paul, Chris, Sara, Dana, Tracey, Denise, Kathy, Lorrie Ann, Jo-Marie, Jill, and Karen.
Valerie was full of life and she was loved by everyone who had the honour of meeting her. She took pride in working for the Huron Superior Catholic District School board as a special education assistant. She loved her job and is leaving behind a legacy of kindness and a dedication to helping others. Valerie was known for her love of God, her incredible fashion sense, her contagious smile, and her down to earth sense of humour. She lived a life of many struggles, but in her final years she found peace and allowed forgiveness to fill her beautiful heart.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to the Sault Area Hospital for their open-mindedness towards home treatment, and to Health Sciences North for their compassion and impeccable service.
A celebration of life will be held in Valerie’s honour on Saturday, February 10, from 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the Elks Lodge at 216 Bay Street, in the upstairs hall.
