FARTEK, Karel - In loving memory of Karel Fartek, 70 years, Saturday, November 5th, 2011 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital. Beloved husband of Maria (Sircelj) Fartek. Cherished son of Karel and Terezija (Skaper) Fartek predeceased. Loving brother of Angela predeceased (husband Viljam Spehar of Sudbury). Dear uncle of Theresa and Angela. Sadly missed by relatives in Slovenia. Born in Dolic, Slovenia he moved to Sudbury in 1964. He married Maria (Sircelj) in 1966 at Holy Trinity Church. An INCO smelter man Karel worked for 33 years. He retired in 1997. He was an avid gardener whose green thumb produced bountiful vegetables and fruit. A keen outdoorsman he spent many happy times at his camp on the French River where he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a faithful Toronto Maple Leafs fan. A man of integrity Karel will be well remembered as a hardworker and good neighbour who was devoted to his loving wife. Resting at the JACKSON and BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St., Sudbury. Funeral prayers in the R. J. Barnard Chapel Wednesday, November 9th, 2011 at 1 PM. Cremation with entombment in the Civic Cemetery. Donations to the A.L.S. Society would be appreciated.
