FEDEC, Zofja 'Sophia' Maria (nee Nowak) - In loving memory of Zofja  'Sophia'  Maria Fedec (nee Nowak) 83 years Peacefully Friday, November 23rd, 2012 at Health Sciences North, with loving family at her side. Beloved wife of Jan Fedec predeceased 1991. Loving mother of Richard (wife Jocelyne) and Wesley (wife Dianne). Dear sister of Richard Nowak (wife Dolores predeceased), Barbara Pippolo (husband Laurie MacMahon), and Hilary Nowak predeceased. Sadly missed by loving nieces and nephews in the United States and Poland. Sophia is best described as a butterfly, always colourful, beautiful, glorious, caring and magnetic. Despite the challenges and hardships of war in Poland and her deportation to Siberia as a child, Sophia forgave and moved on. She was such a great fit in our world of multiculturalism and being Polish was so paramount to her. She was a member of the Polish Combattants' Association and St. Casimir's Parish. Always surrounded by the Polish Community, she was involved with numerous festivities and events that shared her culture and traditions. Her family was the central focus of her life. She instilled the importance of education and giving back to society in her two boys and four grandchildren. She loved animals, cooking, baking, gardening, travelling the globe and partying with her friends. Her Polish cuisine agreed with so many. She loved life and she was happy, and that's why everybody liked her. Resting at the JACKSON and BARNARD FUNERAL HOME 233 Larch St., Sudbury.
