Filiatrault, Ronald "Spike"

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Ronald "Spike" Filiatrault on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at the Maison McCulloch Hospice.  Loved husband of Diane. Very proud father of Cindy Lajeunesse (Benoit), and Matthew, your resilience, compassion, and accomplishments were a great comfort to him. As a cherished grandfather his greatest joys in life came from spending time with his treasures Valerie and Xavier, whether it was watching "his Valerie" play ringette or listening to the stories and antics from "his Big Guy" during his summer visits, he couldn't have been happier.  Always know you are all forever loved and cherished.

Predeceased by his loving parents Frederica and Papa Joe Filiatrault.  Survived by his siblings Monique Vachon (Gerry), John (Shirley), Mitchell (Judy), Don, and Bernie (partner Dave).  Predeceased by his Dutch family, Oma Cornelia and Opa Jan, uncle Aart (Gerda).  Survived by his cousins Lia (Nico), Gerda, and Nanny.  Fondly remembered by Martin, Maya, Thijs, Dennis, Iris, Ernst, Cindy, Linda, Mascha and Tim.  Ron enjoyed recounting his visit to Holland as a child.  He is survived by his father-in-law J.P. Blais (Georgette, predeceased), sister-in-law Suzanne and brother-in-law John (Tracy). Fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews: Greg, Jody, Darryl, Amber, Doug (predeceased), Larry, Jacob, Lisa, Wendy, Christine, Yvan, Randee-Lynn, Karlee and Carys.  Great uncle to many.  You all held a special place in his heart.

Ron worked at Sudbury Tire, Broder Tire and Walmart where he was fortunate enough to create many great friendships throughout his life.  A special Thank You to Marcel Chartrand, your visits and calls meant the world to him and to Bob, Vickie, Norm and Judy, thank you for being great neighbors to us. Ron will be truly missed and remembered by many friends.

We especially would like to thank Dr. Boudreau, Dr. Pun, Dr. Singh, Dr. Bansal, Barb, Alice, Chantal, Crystal, Kailyn and all the staff at Maison McCulloch Hospice for your care and compassion provided to Ron while he was in your care.  Mary-Anne and Donna (Paramed) for your kindness and tenderness and to Christina, Ron's "Queen of Chelmsford" we are forever grateful to you. "Mr Ron or Mr. Scratchy" loved his appointments, even in the difficult times, you are truly a Gem, Thank You. In keeping with Ron’s wishes there will be no visitation or services. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made directly to the Maison McCulloch Hospice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
