FILION, Richard - (1940-2011) - Est décédé à l'hpital régional du Grand Sudbury le 12 février à l'âge de 70 ans. Il laisse dans le deuil, sa bien-aimée depuis 40 ans, Elise Filion (née Lahaie). Prédécédé par ses parents André et Liliane (née Osborne). Cher frère de Gabriel (Solange) de Sturgeon Falls, Norman (Louise) de Field, Marie-Paule Filion de Sudbury, Suzelle (Gerry Dignard) de Chelmsford et Denise (Roger Morin) de Val Caron. Prédécédé par ses frères Robert (Jacqueline) et Alain (Alice) et ses soeurs Ghislaine Gervais (Ray) et Marie-Luce Mainville (Léon). Cher beau-frère d'Anna (Roland prédécédé), Anne (Edgar Venne prédécédé), George et Rachelle, Ruth (Léo prédécédé), Denise (prédécédée) et Suzanne (Wally Lamondin). Il sera regretté de plusieurs neveux et nièces, arrière- neveux et arrière-nièces avec qui il avait une relation très spéciale. Richard a occupé le poste de directeur général de la Fédération des Caisses populaires du Nord de l'Ontario pour ensuite devenir directeur de la caisse populaire d'Alban ou il a pu profiter pleinement de ses passe-temps préférés, le golf et la pêche. Richard a touché le coeur de plusieurs par sa grande générosité. Il a été un habile porte-parole devant l'injustice. La famille désire remercier sincèrement le personnel des soins palliatifs de l'Hpital Régional de Sudbury. La famille célèbrera la vie de Richard jeudi de 14 h à 17 h et de 19 h à 21 h 30 à la COOPÉRATIVE FUNÉRAIRE, 222 boulevard Lasalle E. (angle Notre- Dame), Sudbury. La messe funéraire sera célébrée le vendredi 18 février 2011 à 11 h à la paroisse Ste-Anne-des-Pins, Sudbury, suivi par une réception. Predeceased by his parents André and Liliane (née Osborne) Filion. Dear brother of Gabriel (Solange) of Sturgeon Falls, Norman (Louise) of Field, Marie-Paule Filion of Sudbury, Suzelle (Gerry Dignard ) of Chelmsford and Denise (Roger Morin) of Val Caron. Predeceased by brothers Robert (Jacqueline), Alain (Alice) and sisters Ghislaine (Ray Gervais) and Marie-Luce (Léon Mainville). Cherished brother-in-law of Anna (Roland predeceased), Anne (Edgar Venne predeceased), George and Rachelle, Ruth (Léo predeceased), Denise (predeceased) and Suzanne (Wally Lamondin). Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews to whom he gave very special loving attention. Richard enjoyed the outdoors and loved to share his fishing expertise. He will be remembered by many as a wonderful person who gave much of his time helping people in need. He was a true advocate of justice. The family would like to thank the wonderful caring nurses of the palliative care unit at Sudbury Regional hospital and encourage donations (by cheque only) to either that unit or to the Northern Cancer Research Foundation. A sincere thank you to Dr. Knight, Dr. Noble, Dr. Crichton, Dr. Sami and Dr. Bourdon. The family and friends will gather to celebrate Richard's life at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd. E. (at Notre-Dame), Sudbury, Thursday from 2-5 and 7-9:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, February 18, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in Ste-Anne-des-Pins Church, Sudbury.
