FLORA, Elio Peter - In Loving Memory of Elio Peter Flora, 87 years. Passed away Thursday, December 20th, 2012 at Health Sciences North. Beloved husband of Antonina “Tina“ (nee Marcolini) Flora predeceased 2007. Loving father of David of Sudbury, Anna Marie Megraw (Ken Lane) of Beeton and Michael (predeceased 1968). Cherished grandfather of Laura, Michael and Christopher. Dear son of Pietro and Maria (Di Paoli) Flora both predeceased. Dear brother of Adolpho (wife Norma), Carmello (wife Miriam), Ugo (wife Rita), Elvira Fulin (husband Galiano), Cesira Freschi (husband Calisto Flabiano and Adolpho Freschi) all predeceased, Lena Semeniuk (husband Steve predeceased) and Arletta Hreljac predeceased (husband Emile of Copper Cliff). Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Born in Creighton, he attended Copper Cliff High School. He retired from INCO as a MTCE- Supervisor after 40 years service. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus #3909 Creighton/Lively, served for 25 years on the Board of Directors and Loan Committee of Community Savings and Credit Union. He was elected to the Lively Town Council for 2 years in the mid 1950's, a member of the Sudbury and District Pensioner's Association. Elio loved golfing, hockey and curling. In 1981 he was a member of the Copper Cliff Curling Club Team that won Northern Ontario Senior's Champs and played national in Nanaimo, B.C. Elio enjoyed most of all, his cottage at Birch Lake near Webbwood where he spent many wonderful years with his family. Resting at the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME, 252 Regent St., at Hazel St. Funeral Mass in St. Stanislaus Church, 78 Balsam St., Copper Cliff, Saturday, December 22nd, 2012 at 1 p.m. Interment at the Sudbury Catholic Cemetery. Donations to the NCF-Cancer Center or St. Pius X Memorial Fund would be appreciated. (Friends may call 2-4; 7-9 p.m. Friday).
