FLYNN, Reta Pearl (Carmichael) - In loving memory of Reta Pearl (Carmichael) Flynn, 85 years, Wednesday, April 6th, 2011 at the Extendicare Falconbridge. Beloved wife of Harvey “Herk“ Flynn predeceased 1990. Loving mother of Diane (Ron Hebert) of Sudbury, John (Joyce) of Copper Cliff and Patti Camirand (Sean predeceased) of Sudbury. Cherished grandmother of Tracy (Mike), Darren, Parker and great grandchildren Rylee and Cam. Dear sister of Toots predeceased, Joy (Charlie Lineham) and Eldon (Riley). Dear sister in law of Kathryn Madigan and Margaret Barker. Sadly missed by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Reta was a charter member of the Ladies Auxiliary to Branch 224 - May 8th, 1957. A Life Member, Reta served 10 terms as president and 6 terms as secretary. She was chairwoman of the Honours and Awards Committee, co-chaired the 60th anniversary committee with Branch 224 and assisted with the preparation of the history of the Branch and Auxiliary for the 60th anniversary book. Reta was an active member and very knowledgeable in Legion affairs. She was always willing to assist new members by sharing her experience and knowledge. In younger days, she taught Sunday School at Copper Cliff United Church. Reta was a wonderful cook and an excellent knitter. The challenges of Alzheimers paled in comparison to the strength of spirit in her life. She will be lovingly remembered as a kind and warm- hearted woman, with a keen sense of humour and a devotion to her family. Special thanks to the staff on the 3rd and 4th floors at Extendicare Falconbridge for their care and compassion. Funeral Service in the R.J. Barnard Chapel, JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St., Sudbury, Saturday, April 9th, 2011 at 11am. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium. Donations to Extendicare Falconbridge Residents' Council would be appreciated. (Friends may call 2-4 and 7- 9pm Friday, or after 10am Saturday.)
