In loving memory of Henry “Lou” Fournier who passed away on Tuesday May 26th, 2020 at Health Sciences North in Sudbury. Henry was 97 years young. Beloved husband of Eleanor Fournier (nee Richer) predeceased in 2003. Loving father of Claire Villemere (Jerry), Suzanne Kutchaw (Erin) both predeceased, Henry Jr. (Claire), Roger (Gloria), Steven (Darlene), and Peter predeceased (Debbie). Much cherished grandfather of twelve, great-grandfather of twenty-one and great-great-grandfather of five. Dear son of Emile and May (Daggett) Fournier, both predeceased. Dear brother of Leo (Alice), William (Fernande) and Yvonne Martel (Buster), all predeceased. Fondly remembered as “Uncle Lou” by many nieces and nephews. Dear friend of Catherine Dillon. A quick wit, Henry was loved by his neighbours at Ramsey View Court and his group of friends who met regularly at Tim’s. Henry was a soldier in the Royal Hamilton Light Infantry Brigade during WWII. He served in Canada, in the United Kingdom and in Continental Europe. A member of the quarter century club at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 76, he was proud to have served his country. During his lifetime, Henry wore many hats. He was an employee of CP Railway, a security guard at Burwash Correctional Centre, a member of the Copper Cliff Police Force and a security guard at INCO. Golfing and curling were sports of choice during his retirement. He and Eleanor enjoyed travelling across Canada in the summer and to Florida in the winter. A heartfelt THANK YOU to Dr. Christine Clendenning, Henry’s devoted family doctor, to Kelly Seguin, his DVA nurse and to Ruth Young, his DVA occupational therapist. An honourable mention to the staff on the 6th floor, South Tower HSN for their dedicated care. As per Henry’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Donations can be made to the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 76 Poppy Fund. Arrangements entrusted to the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME.
