GALBRAITH, Ransford James - July 21, 1930 - April 21, 2012 Ransford Galbraith, a resident of Mindemoya, died at the Manitoulin Health Centre, Mindemoya on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at the age of 81 years. He was born in Campbell Township, son of the late James Roger and Grace (Griffin) Galbraith. Ransford had farmed all his life as well as ran Cozy Cove tourist camp for many years. He was a member of the Agricultural Society and a member of the Gore Bay Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and curling. He was a member of the Mindemoya and Providence Bay Curling Clubs and thoroughly enjoyed visiting and socializing with friends. Ransford will be sadly missed in his community and by all who knew him. Ransford is survived by his beloved wife Lavina (Bock) Galbraith. Loving and loved father of Esther and her husband Charles Moody of Mindemoya and Paul and his wife Evelina of Surrey, B.C. Proud grandfather of Leslie (T.J. McDermid), Tammie (Brett), Adrianna and Jessica and great grandson Evan. Dear brother of Evelyn Pattison (late Warren Legge and Jim Pattison) of Gore Bay, Mildred McCormick (late Bill) of Espanola and Leona Sloss, husband Chester of Espanola. Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sister Lorma Middaugh and her husband Bill. Friends may call at the Mindemoya United Church on Thursday after 7 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate Ransford's life will be conducted at the church on Friday, April 27, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Mary Jo Eckert Tracy officiating. Interment in Mindemoya Cemetery. If so desired, donations to the Parkinsons Foundation, the Mindemoya Hospital Auxiliary or the Mindemoya United Church would be appreciated.
