GATHERCOLE, Anita “Ruth“ - In loving memory of Anita “Ruth“ Gathercole (nee Hall), Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Health Sciences North. Ruth was born on November 12, 1935 in Sudbury, Ontario to Dolores May (nee Scott) and Alan Hall. Ruth was raised in Copper Cliff with her sister Margaret “Peggy“ Crawford (Bracebridge) and her brothers Nicke and Alan “Jack“ Hall both predeceased. She married Doug (predeceased) in 1961 and lived in Copper Cliff most of her life. Very loving mother to Leslie, husband Paul Bainard (Ajax). Devoted and caring Nan to her grandchildren, Lorne and Mark (Ajax). She was a loving and supportive mother to Dale (Winnipeg). She will be sadly missed by her nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Ruth worked for the Toronto Dominion Bank in Copper Cliff until staying home to raise her family. She was active in the Copper Cliff United Church, the Copper Cliff Legion Branch #224 Ladies Auxiliary, the Lively Golf Course, and the Copper Cliff Curling Club. She was a great supporter of the Sudbury Cancer Center and the Sudbury South Seniors' Group. Ruth enjoyed spending the summers with her friends and family at her little piece of heaven on Long Lake. Ruth had a great sense of humour, a wonderful laugh, and was well-liked by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed. Donations to the NCF Cancer Center would be appreciated by the family.
