GAZDIC, Fern - In loving memory of Fermeenia T. “Fern“ Gazdic (nee Toppazzini) 91 years Wednesday, June 8th, 2011 at the Extendicare York, Sudbury. Beloved wife of Louis Gazdic predeceased 2002. Loving mother of Joseph George predeceased, Geraldine (husband Stan Piotrowski), Sherry-Anne (husband Rick Wilson), Dennis (wife Sandra Mior-Gazdic) and Michael (wife Jane). Cherished grandmother of Amber (husband Chris), Ethan, Brenna, Aaron, Janelle, Benjamin, Lucas, Mark, Gillian and great grandchildren Norah and Vivienne. Dear daughter of Giuseppe and Lucia (Natolino) Toppazzini predeceased. Dear sister of Rose Baldelli, Mary Gramolini, Anne Mulvey, Peter, Santo, Louis, Albert and Bruce Toppazzini all predeceased. Sadly missed by many loving nieces and nephews. Born in Copper Cliff, Fern was a well-loved and longtime resident of the West End. A devout Roman Catholic, she was a former parishioner at St. Clement's Church and member of the parish CWL. In younger years, she was an accomplished athlete. Fern was always quick to help others, often volunteering at local schools and hospitals. She was a life member of the Caruso Club. Fern lived the lessons taught by Jesus on a daily basis to love her God and love her neighbour. Whether sharing a smile, saying the rosary, or visiting a friend, the light of her life guided others in God's ways and good destinations. She was devoted to her family. The gift of her memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her, as she joins her beloved Louis in Heaven to be a guardian angel to her family and friends on Earth. Resting at the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME 252 Regent St. at Hazel St. Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Hope Church 591 Brennan Rd., Sudbury Saturday, June 11th, 2011 at 1pm. Interment in the family plot at the Civic Cemetery. Prayers 4:30pm Friday. Donations to the Mass for Shut-Ins would be appreciated. (Friends may call 4-9pm Friday and after 11am Saturday.)
