GERMOND, Dorothy Eileen (Impey) - In loving memory of Dorothy Eileen Germond (Impey) who died in Johannesburg, South Africa, on Friday, May 27th in her 93rd year and with her beloved husband of 66 years, Charles, by her side. Dorothy's pride and joy were her three sons, Brian (Susan), Peter (Sandra) and Colin (Anne) who she lovingly referred to as “My boys!“ She took great pride in all their accomplishments and was happiest in their company. Over the years, Dorothy and Charles made several trips to Canada, and always found it a home away from home. She loved to hike and birdwatch and she made the best marmalade. Dorothy was the proud grandmother of eight grandchildren, Claire (Jon), Katharine (Howard), Clyde, Timothy (Simone), Jessica (Bruce), Nicole (Dominic), Caitlin and Richard and four great grandchildren, Finlay, Ella, Hannah and Maya. They were all the recipients of her hand knitted sweaters. A woman of deep faith, Dorothy served in the church alongside Charles for many years. A funeral service will take place at St. Martin's in the Veld Anglican Church, Johannesburg, on Wednesday June 1st at 10am. Donations in Dorothy's memory may be made to the Dr. Colin Germond Music Therapy Program.
