LEO ROBERT GIES - June 11 ,1935 - December 1, 2012. It is with great sorrow that the family announce the passing away of Leo R. Gies (age 77), Saturday December 1,2012 at St Joseph Hospital in Elliot Lake. Caring son of Leo Sr. and Lillian Gies (both predeceased), beloved husband and best friend of Frances, loving father of Brenda (George) Rattray and Michael (Paulette) Gies. Cherished grandfather of Steve and Meghan, Leo is survived by numerous brothers and sisters. At Leo's request, cremation has taken place and there will be a memorial at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated by his family.
