In loving memory of Irene Gignac (nee Hamilton), 83 years. Peacefully, Thursday, June 23rd, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of Rheal Gignac predeceased 2012. Loving mother to a newly found stepdaughter Jo-Anne Venne (Danny), and mother of Monique Gignac (Blair), Suzanne Manning, Norman Gignac (Olga), and Gisele Gignac (Ralph). Cherished grandmother of Joey (Danielle), Jaimie-Lynn (Jonathan), Luc (Melissa), Shane, Justin (Karen), Shannon (Nate), Megan, Devon, Bradyn, and Alexis, and 12 great-grandchildren.

Dear daughter of Rosario and Almira (nee St. Jean) Hamilton both predeceased. Dear sister of Albert Hamilton (Edna), Paulette Frank (Ronald), and Paul Hamilton (Sherry), and predeceased by Florence, Arthur, and Roger Hamilton. Sadly missed by nieces and nephews.

Irene was the most loving, caring, giving, and compassionate person. She loved travelling to Cuba with her best friend Pauline.

The family expresses their appreciation to Dr. R. Singh and nursing staff at the Cancer Clinic and Donna Cogging-Heyming from the Hospice for their excellent care and support and a special thank you to her R.N. Cory.

Memorial Visitation in the Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch St., Sudbury. Friends may call after 9AM Wednesday, July 13, 2022.

A celebration of her life will be held in the R.J. Barnard Chapel, Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at 11AM. Cremation with interment in the Civic Memorial Cemetery. Donations to the Maison McCulloch Hospice or Northern Cancer Foundation would be appreciated.
