GIROLAMETTO, Elsa

May 21, 2013 86

GIROLAMETTO, Elsa (Favaro) - 86, died peacefully in her sleep on May 17, 2013 at MacKenzie Health Centre in Richmond Hill. Her final days were spent with her children and grandchildren at her bedside. She was born on June 11, 1926 in Ramon di Loria, Italy and emigrated to Canada in 1952 to join her fiancé and future husband, Virginio, to whom she was married for 59 years. Elsa worked as a cook in the Copper Cliff Italian Club for over 27 years. She was passionate about cooking and had a gift for making perfect risotto, lasagne, cannelloni, and panettone, a gift that she happily shared with her granddaughters. She was devoted to her seven grandchildren and great granddaughter, to whom she was a loving and generous grandmother. A proud woman, Elsa had many chronic illnesses, which she battled courageously for many years. She was an active member of St. Stanislaus Church and the Copper Cliff Italian Club. Those who knew Elsa will remember her for her positive spirit, strong will, selflessness, sense of humour, and love. We are grateful to all the staff at Chartwell Valley Vista for their love and support. We also thank the staff in the Dialysis Units at Health Sciences North and the Vaughan Satellite Clinic of MacKenzie Health Centre for their loving care. Elsa is survived by her four children, Luigi, Susan (Renato), Patricia (Eddie), Danny (Kim), six grandchildren Tanya (Eugene), Paul (Kathy), Jessica (Mark), Chris, Elena and Emma, and Johanna's husband, Devin. The joy of her life was her great-grandchild, Alyssa. Elsa is predeceased by her husband, Virginio and granddaughter, Johanna, both of whom she loved deeply and kept close to her heart. Resting at the JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME 233 Larch St., Sudbury (Friends may call 2-4; 6:30-8:30pm Tuesday with Parish Prayers at 3:30pm Tuesday). Funeral Mass in St. Stanislaus Church, Copper Cliff, Wednesday, May 22nd, 2013 at 10am. Entombment in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Toronto. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Health Sciences North Dialysis Unit would be appreciated.
